Learn-to-Sail classes are available to all members of the MIT Community with the MIT Recreation Membership. MITNA Learn to Sail classes will teach you how to sail in just a few hours, so you may enjoy sailing on your own!
If you want to take a beginner Midweek 1-2-3 or Sunday All-in-One, you must first add your name to the Priority Queue and review how to register here. If you are new to sailing, there are two types of beginner classes: Mid-Week 1-2-3 and Sunday All-in-One. Both options will provide you with all the information and practice you need to sail at MIT.
If you have previous sailing experience, you may register for an Introduction for Experienced Sailors to learn how the Pavilion works. This class serves as an orientation for people who already know how to sail, but are new to MIT Sailing.
Priority Queue
The MIT Learn-to-Sail Priority Queue is like a waiting list —but it’s not a waiting list! It’s our way of ensuring that people waiting the longest for the introductory Learn-To-Sail class are selected first for the particular class they can attend. You’re not just told when there is a class available.
Complete the form below to place your name on the Priority Queue. Then, register for the next class on the schedule in the sidebar that you can attend. We select the class registrants with the lowest Priority Queue positions until the class is full. If you don’t get into your first-choice class, try again. You’ll get in soon!
Before registering for a particular class, you must add your name to the Priority Queue. Class participants are confirmed in order of their position on the Priority Queue, which also serves as an information email list for upcoming class info. All beginner classes (Midweek 1-2-3 and Sunday) use the same Priority Queue.
