Rent
The MIT Sailing Pavilion is available to host your event! We’ve hosted everything from Department meetings to Club social events to birthday parties and weddings. We have several spaces available. The Pavilion can be rented by anyone—rates are discounted for MIT-affiliated groups, including alumni. MIT groups can apply for a permit to have alcohol at their event but alcohol is not allowed for non-MIT groups.
East Roof Deck
A large open space on the upper level of the Pavillion with a rare waterfront view of the Boston skyline. The East Roof Deck is equipped with 6 metal outdoor tables & 45 matching chairs. A lighted tent with a back wall to provide some privacy from the street can be provided by our tent vendor. Capacity 100 guests.

Casual Party Space & Dock
Our indoor Shore School space and use of the wooden dock in front is available for smaller, more casual events or for your caterer to use as prep and service space for an event on the East Roof Deck. Equipped with 5′ x 30″ plastic folding tables and 40 stackable chairs. Capacity 50.

Barbeque Grill
The Pavilion also has a barbeque grill for small groups to use. Do you want to host a small gathering by the water and serve some basic grilled food? This is the spot for you! Due to the casual nature of BBQs, reservations for this spot will not be confirmed earlier than 1 month in advance of the booking date.

Charles River Cruise boat docking
The Sailing Pavilion Dock is available for pickup and dropoff of your groups cruise with the Charles River Boat company. Book your cruise directly with the company on their website.
