Wednesday Night Series
The Wednesday Night Race Series takes place each Wednesday evening, June thru September in Boston Harbor. The races are broken down into a Spring, Summer, and Autumn series. Racing is confined to the Inner Harbor, providing thrilling close-quarters action that demands crew members effectively employ a broad range of skills to outperform the other boats in our class.
A crew of 6-8 will typically muster each Wednesday around 17:30 at Waterboat Marina to prepare for a 18:30 first gun. One can expect to be on the water for about 3 hours. All crew members should come prepared with a dedicated pair of boat shoes, sailing gloves, water bottle, and any necessary layers to assure you stay warm and dry.
MASHNEE strives to compete in the Race Class as much as possible, which allows MASHNEE to utilize her massive spinnaker on the downwind legs. Crew eager to learn to “fly the spin” should express their interest with one of the race skippers and attend spinnaker training sessions hosted throughout the season.
