Learn to Race

Description

Class will meet rain or shine.  Sign in on the sign-in sheet on the front counter.  There's no need to sign up in advance.  Boats are first come, first served so arrive early enough to claim a boat.

Full sail is always recommended.  We hope to teach you the techniques so that you can push yourself to the next level. 

Class 1: 

• Introduce selves
• Class structure
  • partially rigged, sailing card up, sign-in
  • talk for ~15-20 minutes
  • Start racing 
  • available for a few questions at the end
• Three minute start
• Modified triangle race course
• Setting up boat the right way
• Run a few races

Class 2:

• recap
• Tell-tales
  • shroud tell-tales for downwind sailing
  • sail tell-tales for perfecting sail trim
• Headers/ Lifts
  • tack when headed to sail the lifted course
• Are you sailing towards the mark?
• Run a few races

Class 3:

• TBD!  Show up to find out!
