Description
July 5 sail to historic Rainsford Island in the Boston Harbor on Rhodes 19s
Arrive at the pavillion at 8:30 a.m. and please be ready to leave the dock by 9 on two Rhodes 19's. We'll get towed out past the locks and sail to Rainsford Island in the harbor, which is abandoned and empty but used to hold a quarantine hospital and shops where errant Boston boys were brought to work (see above). After mooring, we'll take a dinghy into the island and have lunch. Then we'll sail back and plan to arrive back at the Pavillion by 5:30 p.m., with a possible stop at Spectacle Island for the bathrooms. Please bring lunch, plenty of water and extra layers just in case.
