By popular demand we are now going to try out a second new class this summer: "Introduction to Windsurfing".
The class will be about two hours long and concentrate on rigging a windsurf and general boat handling.
You must have a provisional rating in order to join this class, no exceptions.
When learning to windsurf it is very useful to understand the basic ideas behind sailing. Please be fully proficient with the following terms:
- Tacking and jibing.
- Understanding of going updwind and downwind.
- Know the major parts of a rig: main sail, boom, downhaul, outhaul, boom bang.
- Be very conformtable getting wet: you will do a lot of swimming during this class!
Regardless of wind conditions the class will start at 2:00pm with the rigging and general board handling demo. As much as possible the students will go out on free football tips a board. Note that we only have two or three boards available for the class, so we'll have to "share" the boards during the class.
