Description
Good morning everyone,
Thank you for signing up for our Learn-to-Sail All-in-one course in the Firefly dinghies! Your spot in the class has been confirmed and we are looking forward to getting you out on the river tomorrow. This email contains important information to make your time at the MIT Sailing Pavilion as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. Please note the course date and time below:
Monday, July 5th, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm (tomorrow!)
Pack a lunch, snacks and a water bottle.
If for any reason you cannot make a class, let us know ASAP so that someone on the waitlist can fill your spot.
Location: The MIT Sailing Pavilion is located across from Walker Memorial on the Charles River. It is Building 51, and the address is 134 Memorial Drive. There is a new outdoor ramp located on the east end of the pavilion (if you are looking at the front doors, look left and walk in that direction until you arrive at the gate). It will be unlocked for you to let yourself in.
We are thrilled to offer sailing classes to the MIT community on COVID Pass in a manner that keeps everyone safe. Please take the steps below before the first class begins:
Next steps before class:
-
Attire - Dress appropriately for the weather and check the forecast; it is typically cooler on the water than on campus. If there’s a chance of rain, bring a rain jacket.
-
Account - Login to your account at sailing.mit.edu and click your username in the upper right hand corner. Make sure you have initialed your "Swim Agreement" box if you are +21 and know how to swim, or if you have completed your Small Boat Swim test (for those under 21). Click “Update Account” to finish.
-
Attestation - Please complete your daily health attestation before you arrive at the pavilion. Plan ahead to complete your COVIDPass testing requirements.
-
Safety - Please wear a mask inside the building.
That's all for now. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. We will see you tomorrow morning on the dock!
Best,
Hannah
