Advanced Tech Dinghy Racing is our competitive racing series. The finest sailors in the Boston area compete on Tuesday nights in the summer and Mondays during the intercollegiate sailing season, starting as early as 5:30pm and concluding as late as sunset. On some holidays, racing will start as early as 4pm. Competitors race singlehanded in Tech Dinghies and are expected to understand and adhere to the Racing Rules of Sailing. Participants must sign in with their name and sailing card number at the front desk and check out their boat with a regular sailing or a card racing card. Competitors must also volunteer for Race Committee duty, or risk being “voluntold”! Scores are collected and tabulated for a spring series, a summer series, and a fall series.
The Brass Rat Regatta is held in mid-October. It is the major regatta in the MIT Tech Dinghy and features top sailors from across the country.
